Target Information
Sheep interleukin-1 beta is a 17 kDa secreted cytokine whose β-trefoil core engages the IL-1 receptor, driving fever and leukocyte recruitment. A solvent-exposed 14-aa "KVE" loop (aa 202-215) between β-strands 10 and 11 folds into a β-hairpin unique among sheep IL-1 isoforms, presenting a conformational epitope preserved after secretion and fixation. Antibodies to this loop detect native IL-1β in alveolar macrophages, lymph-node follicles, and joint synovium, yielding crisp cytoplasmic granules and single-band blots without cross-reaction to IL-1α or IL-1Ra.

This product is shipped with wet ice packs. Store at -20°C on receipt (up to 12 months). Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody.
