Target Information
Rat cluster of differentiation 147 (CD147, EMMPRIN) is a 58-kDa transmembrane glycoprotein widely expressed in rat tissues-enriched in immune cells (macrophages, lymphocytes), epithelial cells, and vascular endothelial cells. It functions as a cell adhesion molecule and signaling mediator: it interacts with integrins and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) to regulate cell migration, extracellular matrix remodeling, and inflammatory responses. It also promotes MMP secretion, enhancing tissue remodeling in physiological processes (e.g., wound healing) and pathological states (e.g., fibrosis, cancer). Critical for rat immune cell activation and intercellular crosstalk, it modulates host defense and tissue homeostasis. As a key mediator of inflammation, tissue remodeling, and cell adhesion, rat CD147 is a critical target for studying inflammatory disorders, fibrotic diseases, and cancer progression.
