Mouse Nucleoporin 133 (NUP133) is a conserved scaffold subunit of the nuclear-pore complex, anchoring the inner ring to the outer nuclear membrane. Its structured COOH-terminal domain stabilizes the central channel that gates nucleocytoplasmic transport of proteins and RNA. Constitutively expressed in all dividing cells, NUP133 offers a reliable marker for intact pore number and nuclear-envelope integrity. Specific antibodies provide crisp rim staining for imaging transport dynamics, cell-cycle profiling and mechanostress assays without cross-reactivity to other nucleoporins.
