Target Information
Canine prealbumin, also called transthyretin, is a 55 kDa homotetramer whose four thyroxine-binding channels sit at the dimer-dimer interface. A solvent-exposed β-strand loop (aa 99-110) projects a unique Met-Leu dipeptide absent from feline or human paralogs, offering a conformational epitope that survives the native tetramer and the monomeric acid-denatured form. Affinity-purified antibodies directed against this loop trace native prealbumin in serum, cerebrospinal fluid, and retinal pigment epithelium, delivering crisp single-band clarity on immunoblots and crisp diffuse cytoplasmic staining with no cross-reaction to albumin or retinol-binding protein.

This product is shipped with wet ice packs. Store at -20°C on receipt (up to 12 months). Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody.
