Target Information
Actin, aortic smooth muscle, is encoded by the ACTA2 gene in rabbits. Actins are highly conserved proteins critical for various forms of cell motility and are found in all eukaryotic cells. In vertebrates, there are three main groups of actin isoforms: alpha, beta, and gamma. Alpha actins are primarily located in muscle tissues and are key components of the contractile apparatus. Beta and gamma actins are present in most cell types, where they serve as parts of the cytoskeleton and facilitate internal cell motility.
