Target Information

Mineralocorticoid Receptor is a steroid hormone receptor that regulates electrolyte balance, blood pressure, and fluid volume by binding to aldosterone, a mineralocorticoid hormone. It is primarily found in the kidney, but also present in other tissues like the heart and blood vessels. It is encoded by the NR3C2 gene in pigs. It was identified as a differentially expressed gene that plays a regulatory role in lipid metabolism.
