Target Information
Microsomal triglyceride transfer protein large subunit is encoded by the MTTP gene in pigs. MTP encodes the large subunit of the heterodimeric microsomal triglyceride transfer protein. Protein disulfide isomerase (PDI) completes the heterodimeric microsomal triglyceride transfer protein, which has been shown to play a central role in lipoprotein assembly. Microsomal triglyceride transfer protein has multiple functions, including participation in the formation of chylomicrons, low-density lipoproteins and very low-density lipoproteins. Therefore, MTTP protein plays a key role in the transport of fats and cholesterol between membrane vesicles, which may be related to lipid metabolism.
