Protein kinase, AMP-activated, alpha 1 (PRKAA1), also known as AMPK α1, is an essential energy sensor that plays a key role in regulating cellular energy metabolism. PRKAA1 is the catalytic subunit of the 5'-AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). 5'-AMP-Activated Protein Kinase Catalytic Subunit alpha-1 is encoded by the PRKAA1 gene in pigs. Research has demonstrated the presence of PRKAA1 in porcine granulosa cells, cumulusoocyte complexes, and denuded oocytes.
