Target Information
Lymphotoxin-Beta is a cytokine involved in lymphoid organ development, immune cell activation, and inflammation. It is produced by various immune cells, including lymphocytes and macrophages. It is encoded by the LTB gene in pigs. It plays a crucial role in the formation of lymph nodes and Peyer's patches (lymphatic tissues in the intestines), and is involved in regulating immune responses against pathogens and inflammation. LTB regulates secondary lymphoid structure development and can be used to study the development of the intestinal immune system at parturition in swine and humans.
