Target Information

CD14 Moleculeis encoded by the CD14 gene in pigs. CD14 is a glycoprotein and monocyte differentiation antigen found on the surface of monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It plays an important role in initiating the innate response to lipopolysaccharide from Gram-negative bacteria. It also responds to peptidoglycan (PGN), a component present in bacterial cell walls. CD14's role in immune recognition and antigen presentation is crucial.
