Target Information

Calpain-2 Catalytic Subunit is encoded by the CAPN2 gene in pigs. Calpains are a family of intracellular cysteine proteases that cleave their substrates at specific sites, thereby altering their properties such as function or activity. CAPN2 is a member of the calpain family. The mammalian calpains include ubiquitous, stomach-specific, and muscle-specific proteins. Research has shown that calpain-2 functions as a downregulation of calpain-1.

Target/Biomarker Porcine CAPN2
