Target Information
Glycated albumin (also known as GA) is a ketoamine produced through the non-enzymatic glycation of the albumin protein with reducing sugars such as fructose and glucose. Similar to glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), glycosylated albumin (GA) may also be related to blood glucose levels and insulin secretion function. Research has demonstrated that glycated albumin (GA) induces lipid infiltration in the aorta of mice, independently of diabetes mellitus (DM) and local modulation of the renin-angiotensin system (RAS), by promoting lipid peroxidation and inflammation.
