Target Information
Bovine Orexin Receptor Type 1, also known as the Orexin Receptor Type 1 (OX1R), is encoded by the HCRTR1 gene in cattle. HCRTR1 belongs to the class Ι subfamily within the superfamily of G-coupled receptors and is coupled to Ca2+ mobilization. OX1R is a G-protein coupled receptor heavily expressed in projections from the lateral hypothalamus. OX1R selectively binds the orexin-A neuropeptide. Through HCRTR1, orexin A is involved in the control of feeding, sleep-wake cycles, neuroendocrine homeostasis, and autonomic regulation.
