Mouse Proteinase 3 (PR3) ELISA Kit-Sandwich

In mice, proteinase 3 (PR3) primarily functions in inflammation and immune response, particularly in collaboration with neutrophil elastase (NE). PR3 and NE are key neutrophil serine proteases with overlapping and partially redundant substrate specificities, playing a crucial role in antimicrobial defense. Research indicates that these proteases are jointly involved in nonspecific inflammatory responses and neutrophil activation in mice. Additionally, PR3 is significant in the context of obesity-induced nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NAFLD) and insulin resistance. Studies have shown that PR3 is activated and upregulated in the liver tissue of obese mice, closely linked to the development of insulin resistance and fatty liver. Furthermore, the inhibition or deletion of PR3 can alleviate fatty liver and insulin resistance in obese mice, suggesting that PR3 could serve as a potential therapeutic target for metabolic-related diseases.
