Target Information
DPP9 is an intracellular protease significantly involved in immune responses and antigen presentation. Research indicates that DPP9 influences T and B cell signaling via its enzymatic activity, playing a crucial role in antigen presentation. The absence of DPP9 enzymatic activity results in the death of newborn mice, highlighting its vital function in the immune system. DPP9 also has significant metabolic roles in the liver and intestine. It contributes to tumorigenesis by regulating the degradation of tumor-associated antigens and may also play a role in tumor metastasis. In terms of inflammatory responses, increased DPP9 expression is strongly linked to macrophage activation. Additionally, DPP9 is implicated in the DNA damage repair process, such as promoting the degradation of BRCA2 through the N-degron pathway, which influences the repair of DNA double-strand breaks.
