Target Information
Follicle stimulating hormone is a hormone produced by the anterior pituitary gland in response to gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) from the hypothalamus. FSH collaborates closely with luteinizing hormone (LH) in the reproductive system. Research indicates that low doses of FSH can effectively induce follicular turnover. Research has shown that overexpressed FSHα/β transgenes can cause decreased fertility by disrupting the normal expression of endogenous reproduction-related genes in female pigs.
