Target Information

The Alpha-1A adrenergic receptor is an alpha-adrenergic receptor that exerts its effects through association with G proteins, which activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. Its action is mediated by G(q) and G11 proteins. In cardiac myocytes, nuclear ADRA1A-ADRA1B heterooligomers regulate phenylephrine (PE)-stimulated ERK signaling. ADRA1A plays a vital role in learning and memory in mice. Research indicates that ADRA1A mutant mice exhibit decreased learning and memory abilities, whereas ADRA1A activation enhances these cognitive functions. Furthermore, ADRA1A expression in the hippocampus is closely linked to neuronal activity, and its dysfunction may adversely affect cognitive function.
