Target Information

SLC6A2 is also known as Dopamine Transporter (DAT1). SLC6A2 mediates sodium-chloride (Na+/Cl−)-dependent reuptake of extracellular norepinephrine (NE), also known as noradrenaline. It is also involved in the transport of dopamine (DA). SLC6A2 is a target for many antidepressants and recreational drugs. Bovine Sodium-Dependent Noradrenaline Transporter is encoded by the SLC6A2 gene in cattle. It is a critical determinant of neurotransmitter inactivation following NE release at synapses.

Target/Biomarker Bovine SLC6A2
Target Synonym solute carrier family 6 member 2; sodium-dependent noradrenaline transporter; NET; norepinephrine transporter; solute carrier family 6 (neurotransmitter transporter, noradrenalin), member 2
