Target Information

Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor Gamma (PPAR-γ), also known as the glitazone reverse insulin resistance receptor, is a type II nuclear receptor functioning as a transcription factor. Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor Gamma is encoded by the PPARG gene in pigs. It is a nuclear transcription factor that regulates adipocyte differentiation and lipogenic genes during adipogenesis. It was found that the presence of serine 112 in PPARgamma may play a role in regulating adipocyte differentiation.
