Target Information
Cluster of Differentiation 40 ligand (CD40L), also known as CD154 or CD40 ligand, is a protein primarily expressed on activated T cells. It belongs to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily of molecules. Cluster of Differentiation 40 ligand is encoded by the CD40LG gene in horses. Research has shown that CD40LG could be used as a non-toxic, alternative adjuvant to enhance the immunogenicity of subunit vaccines in horses.
