Target Information

NRP1 (neuropilin 1), also known as NP1, NRP, BDCA4, or VEGF165R, is encoded by the NRP1 gene. NRP1 plays a multifaceted role in angiogenesis, axon guidance, cell survival, migration, and invasion. In a chicken model, caffeine enhanced reactive oxygen species which upregulated Sema3A-Nrp1 expression in the lens and periocular tissues, resulting in corneal cell apoptosis.
