Target Information
Inhibins are glycoproteins that exist as heterodimers, consisting of an α subunit (INHA) paired with one of two homologous yet distinct β subunits, namely βA or βB. The β subunit known as inhibin, beta B is referred to as INHBB. INHBB serves as a component of both activin and inhibin, which are two closely related glycoproteins that exert opposing biological effects. The functions of INHBB are involved in several biological processes, including reproductive regulation, metabolic modulation, cancer development, and tissue repair. These functions suggest that INHBB is biologically important in different organisms such as humans, sheep and mice.
