Target Information
Sex-determining region Y protein (SRY), also known as testis-determining factor (TDF), is a DNA-binding protein encoded by the SRY gene. It plays a crucial role in initiating male sex determination in therian mammals (placental mammals and marsupials). SRY is located on the short arm of the Y chromosome and is responsible for the development of male phenotypes, such as testes. Bovine Sex-Determining Region Y Protein is encoded by the SRY gene in cattle. It is located on Y chromosome and encodes a protein with 229 amino acids.
