Target Information

Bovine Prostaglandin G/H Synthase 1, also known as cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1), is encoded by the PTGS1 gene in cattle. PTGS1 is a dual-function enzyme that plays a pivotal role in the biosynthesis of prostanoids. It converts free arachidonic acid (released from membrane phospholipids) into prostaglandin (PG) H2. It has been shown that PTGS1 regulates osteogenesis of adipose-derived stem cells via modulating the NF-κB signaling pathway.
