Bovine Protein Kinase C Alpha Type is encoded by the PRKCA gene in cattle. PKC-α is a calcium-activated, phospholipid- and diacylglycerol (DAG)-dependent serine/threonine-protein kinase. It is a member of a kinase family that has roles in many cellular processes including cell permeability and cell signaling. It plays a pivotal role in positive and negative regulation of various cellular processes, including: cell proliferation, apoptosis, differentiation, and other processes.
