Target Information

Rod cGMP-specific 3',5'-cyclic phosphodiesterase subunit beta is a subunit of a specific phosphodiesterase enzyme in rod photoreceptor cells of the retina. PDE6B hydrolyzes cGMP, a second messenger involved in phototransduction, the process by which light stimuli are converted into electrical signals. It is encoded by the PDE6B gene in bovine. The catalytic core of rod PDE6 is a unique heterodimer of PDE6A and PDE6B catalytic subunits.

Target/Biomarker Bovine PDE6B
Target Synonym Rod cGMP-specific 3',5'-cyclic phosphodiesterase subunit beta; GMP-PDE beta; EC 3.1.4.35
Gene ID 281974
UniProt ID P23439
