Target Information
E3 Ubiquitin-Protein Ligase HACE1, also known as HACE1, is a protein encoded by the HACE1 gene in cattle. HACE1 is a HECT domain and ankyrin repeat-containing ubiquitin ligase. Its primary role is to tag specific target proteins for either subcellular localization or proteasomal degradation. Previous studies have implicated HACE1 as a tumour suppressor gene. It was shown that HACE1 deficiency causes an autosomal recessive neurodevelopmental syndrome.
