Target Information

Vitamin D-binding protein (DBP), also known as gc-globulin (group-specific component), is a multifunctional protein encoded by the GC gene. The majority of vitamin D in blood is bound to DBP. GC Vitamin D Binding Protein is encoded by the GC gene in horses. Research has shown that plasma vitamin D binding protein concentrations are significantly decreased in horses with acute gastrointestinal injury or disease.
