Target Information
Bovine Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid Receptor Subunit Alpha-3 is encoded by the GABRA3 gene in cattle. It is an alpha subunit that forms part of the GABA-A receptors. These receptors are ligand-gated chloride channels and are activated by the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the mammalian brain, GABA. Research has shown that Gabra3 activates the AKT pathway to promote breast cancer cell migration, invasion and metastasis.
