Target Information
Lysosomal Alpha-Glucosidase, also known as acid maltase, is an enzyme that plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism. Lysosomal Alpha-Glucosidase is active in lysosomes, which are cellular structures serving as recycling centers. Within lysosomes, it participates in the breakdown of complex molecules into simpler forms that can be utilized by cells. Bovine Lysosomal Alpha-Glucosidase is encoded by the GAA gene in cattle. It is an exo-1,4- and -1,6-α-glucosidase that hydrolyzes glycogen to glucose.
