Target Information

Bovine Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 5 is encoded by the CDK5 gene in cattle. It is prominently expressed in post-mitotic central nervous system neurons (CNS). CDK5 belongs to the cyclin-dependent kinase family. It exists in large multimeric complexes. It may participate in amphiphysin-mediated endocytosis. Under physiological conditions, CDK5 is involved in regulating several critical processes in the nervous system, including: neuronal proliferation, differentiation, migration, and synaptic plasticity.
