Target Information
Bovine Gastrin/Cholecystokinin Type B Receptor is encoded by the CCKBR gene in cattle. CCKBR is a G protein-coupled receptor that interacts with two regulatory peptides: gastrin and cholecystokinin (CCK). These peptides play essential roles in both the brain and the gastrointestinal tract. CCKBR is specifically classified as a type B gastrin receptor and exhibits high affinity for both sulfated and nonsulfated CCK analogs. Research has shown that genotypes in CCKBR gene are associated with residual feed intake in beef cattle.
