Target Information
Cytoplasmic tyrosine-protein kinase BMX is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that plays crucial and varied roles in modulating signaling processes related to actin reorganization, cell migration, proliferation and survival, adhesion, and apoptosis. It is involved in signal transduction initiated by growth factor receptors, cytokine receptors, G-protein coupled receptors, antigen receptors, and integrins. BMX also induces the tyrosine phosphorylation of BCAR1 in response to integrin regulation. In mice, BMX is vital for angiogenesis. Research indicates that BMX is highly expressed in ischemic hindlimbs, and its absence significantly reduces angiogenesis and collateral circulation capacity, affecting vascular maturation and function.
