Target Information

Complement C1q subcomponent subunit A (C1qA) is one of the three components of the C1q molecule. C1q, along with C1r and C1s, forms the C1 complex. When antibodies bind to antigens, forming antigen-antibody complexes, the C1 complex becomes activated. This activation initiates the classical complement pathway of the complement system. Bovine Complement C1q subcomponent subunit A is encoded by the C1QA gene in cattle. It is associated with nonclassical monocytes in blood of cattle.
