Target Information
Growth Regulated Proteins (GRO) consist of three proteins: GRO-α, GRO-β, and GRO-γ. GRO-γ, also known as CXCL3, interacts with the chemokine receptor CXCR2 to facilitate monocyte migration and adhesion. The functions of GRO-β and GRO-γ are not limited by species, as they are effective on both rat and human neutrophils, and their activity can be inhibited by antibodies targeting CINC, the rat homolog of GRO. GROγ indirectly supports tumor growth and metastasis by promoting endothelial cell migration and angiogenesis. For example, studies have shown that GROγ can induce endothelial cell migration and angiogenesis, thereby providing nutrients and oxygen to tumors.
