Target Information
Acid phosphatase 3, also known as prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP), is an enzyme that plays a significant role in various biological processes. Bovine Acid Phosphatase 3 is encoded by the ACP3 gene in cattle. It is an enzyme that frees attached phosphoryl groups from other molecules during digestion. It can be further classified as a phosphomonoesterase. This enzyme is stored in lysosomes and functions when these fuse with endosomes, which are acidified during their activity. Therefore, it has an acid pH optimum.
