17-Hydroxyprogesterone (17-OHP) is an endogenous progestogen steroid hormone related to progesterone. 17-OHP serves as a precursor for other important hormones in the body, including testosterone and estrogens like estrone. 17-OHP plays a crucial role in hormonal balance and health. In chicken follicle cells, corticosterone did not inhibit the conversion of progesterone and dehydroepiandrosterone into a number of different metabolites, including 17α-hydroxyprogesterone, androstenedione and testosterone.
