Target Information
Swine lactoferrin (LF) in swine is an 80kDa iron-binding glycoprotein that is a major component of the innate immune system. It is expressed in various biological fluids and has protective effects against a broad spectrum of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. LF is involved in immune response, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities, and plays a crucial role in regulating iron absorption and protecting against microbial infections.
