Target Information
Rabbit E-selectin (SELE) is a key cell adhesion molecule that plays a crucial role in the initial stages of leukocyte recruitment to sites of inflammation. It is transiently expressed on endothelial cells in response to inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β and TNF-α. E-selectin facilitates the rolling and adhesion of leukocytes, including neutrophils and monocytes, to the endothelium, which is essential for the inflammatory response. In rabbits, elevated levels of soluble E-selectin (sE-selectin) have been observed in plasma, indicating endothelial cell activation and inflammation. This makes E-selectin a valuable biomarker for monitoring inflammatory diseases and assessing the efficacy of anti-inflammatory therapies.
