Target Information
Mouse Sulfotransferase 1A1 (Sult1a1) is an enzyme that plays a crucial role in the detoxification and metabolism of various endogenous and exogenous compounds, including drugs and environmental toxins. It catalyzes the sulfonation of phenolic compounds, thereby increasing their water solubility and facilitating their excretion. Sult1a1 is highly expressed in the liver and other detoxifying organs, where it helps protect the body from harmful substances. Abnormal expression or function of Sult1a1 can lead to increased susceptibility to toxic compounds and may contribute to the development of certain diseases.
