Mouse Vimentin (Vim) is a type III intermediate filament protein that plays a crucial role in maintaining cell structure and integrity. It is widely expressed in mesenchymal cells, including fibroblasts, endothelial cells, and certain immune cells. Vimentin is involved in various cellular processes, such as cell adhesion, migration, and mechanical stability. Recent studies have shown that Vimentin can also be secreted and act as a pattern recognition receptor, binding to pathogens and mediating immune responses. In addition, Vimentin has been implicated in the regulation of neuroinflammation and is associated with several neurological disorders. User Note
- Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Avoid mixing by vortexing or pipetting. Reconstitute in 10 mM PBS (pH7.4) to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
