Target Information
Chicken vesicle-associated membrane protein 7 (VAMP7) is a SNARE protein involved in intracellular vesicle trafficking and membrane fusion. It plays a key role in the transport of proteins from early endosomes to lysosomes and is essential for autophagosome formation to maintain mitochondrial homeostasis. In chickens, VAMP7 may support neuronal development and synaptic function by facilitating vesicle transport and fusion in nerve cells. Additionally, it helps regulate insulin signaling and energy metabolism by controlling the targeting of specific proteins to cellular membranes.
