Target Information

Mouse POU Domain, Class 5, Transcription Factor 1 (Pou5f1) is a transcription factor belonging to the POU domain family. It plays a critical role in embryonic development and the maintenance of stem cell pluripotency. Pou5f1 binds to specific octamer DNA motifs and regulates cell type-specific differentiation pathways. In mouse models, it is essential for the self-renewal of undifferentiated embryonic stem cells and spermatogonial stem cells. Additionally, Pou5f1 has been implicated in cancer progression, where its abnormal expression in adult tissues is associated with tumorigenesis and poor prognosis in various cancers. It is also studied as a potential therapeutic target in cancer research.

User Note
