Target Information
Mouse Lipoprotein Lipase (Lpl) is a key enzyme in lipid metabolism, primarily responsible for hydrolyzing triglycerides in chylomicrons and very low-density lipoproteins (VLDL) into fatty acids and monoacylglycerol. This enzyme is highly expressed in adipose tissue, heart, and skeletal muscle, where it facilitates lipid storage and energy utilization. In mouse models, Lpl overexpression has been linked to improved glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity, making it a valuable tool for studying metabolic disorders.
