Target Information
Mouse Cellular Tumor Antigen p53 (Tp53) is a crucial tumor suppressor protein that plays a central role in regulating the cell cycle, apoptosis, and DNA repair. It is often referred to as the "guardian of the genome" due to its ability to prevent the propagation of cells with damaged DNA. Tp53 is involved in various cellular processes, including cell cycle arrest, DNA repair, and apoptosis, which are essential for maintaining genomic stability and preventing cancer. Mutations in Tp53 are among the most common genetic alterations in human cancers, leading to the loss of its tumor suppressor function and contributing to tumor progression. In mouse models, Tp53 is highly expressed in tissues such as the liver, lung, and spleen, where it helps maintain cellular homeostasis and prevent the development of cancer. Abnormal expression or mutations in Tp53 can lead to a wide range of cancers, including breast cancer, lung cancer, and colorectal cancer. Additionally, Tp53 has been implicated in the regulation of immune responses, with wild-type Tp53 promoting anti-tumor immunity by supporting regulatory T cells (Tregs) and inhibiting the differentiation of Th17 cells.
