Target Information
Mouse Interleukin-36 Gamma (Il36g) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine belonging to the IL-1 superfamily. It is primarily expressed in barrier tissues such as the skin, lungs, and intestines, and plays a role in host defense through inflammatory responses. In the skin, Il36g contributes to the pathogenesis of psoriasis by activating dendritic cells and macrophages, inducing the production of IL-23 and TNFα, which drive inflammation. In cancer, it is secreted by neutrophil-like monocytes (CiMs) and promotes cachexia by facilitating skeletal muscle wasting. In the intestines, Il36g has both pro-inflammatory effects and a potential protective role during acute wound healing. Dysregulation of Il36g signaling is implicated in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, making it a potential therapeutic target.
