Target Information
Mouse Annexin A2 (Anxa2) is a multifunctional calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein involved in various biological processes. It forms a heterotetrameric complex with S100A10, which is crucial for its functions. Anxa2 is involved in membrane repair, redox regulation, and signal transduction. It supports the fusion of exocytic vesicles and interacts with ion channels and GPCRs. In cancer, Anxa2 modulates tumor cell resistance to apoptosis by interacting with pathways related to ROS, autophagy, and the DNA damage response. Anxa2 also plays a role in proliferative vitreoretinopathy, where its deficiency in mice leads to resistance to the development of this condition.
