Target Information
Interleukin-1 alpha (IL-1 alpha), also known as hematopoietin 1, is a cytokine belonging to the interleukin-1 family. Interleukin 1 alpha is encoded by the goat gene IL1A. IL1A is secreted by Sertoli and germ cells and is known to inhibit Leydig cell steroidogenesis, stimulate Sertoli cell transferrin and IL6 production, and promote Sertoli cell proliferation. IL-1 alpha is responsible for inflammation, fever promotion, and sepsis.
