Target Information
Swine retinol binding protein 7 (RBP7) is a member of the cellular retinol-binding protein (CRBP) family, which is essential for vitamin A stability and metabolism. This protein binds all-trans-retinol and is structurally similar to other CRBPs, although it has a lower binding affinity for retinol compared to other members of the family . In swine, RBP7 plays a role in lipid and whole-body energy metabolism, and recent evidence suggests that it is an endothelium-enriched transcript, potentially involved in vascular protection and antioxidant responses through its interaction with adiponectin.
