Target Information
Bovine collagen type IV alpha 1 is a major component of the basal membrane in cattle, playing a crucial role in tissue structure and integrity. It is part of the collagen type IV family, which is essential for cell adhesion, migration, and the formation of basement membranes. This protein interacts with various integrins and other extracellular matrix molecules, contributing to tissue development and vascularization. In cattle, it is highly expressed in tissues such as the kidneys and is associated with the filtration function of the glomeruli. It also has implications in diseases involving basement membrane abnormalities.
